2023-04-05 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES CITY OF ENCINITAS YOUTH COMMISSION APRIL 05, 2023 4:30 P.M., 505 S. VULCAN AVENUE, ENCINITAS, CA 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Ruppert called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Chair Ruppert and Commissioners Ca. Ballow, Co. Ballow, Junus, Leschensky, Rohatgi, Su and Viemeister. Also Present: Recreation Services Manager Hamer, Recreation Supervisor Anderson, and Management Analyst Fisher. Absent: Vice-Chair Gonzalez. 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 4. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS AND PROCLAMATIONS 4A. Introduction of Margaret Hamer, Recreation Services Manager Manager Hamer gave an s Manager. 4B. Senior Citizen Commission Chair, Lambert Ling 4C. Community Resource Center (CRC) Domesitc Violence Education and Prevention Manager, Luis Canseco Supervisor Anderson announced that Items 4B and 4C were being postponed to a future regular meeting. 5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS/POSSIBLE DIRECTION TO STAFF April Smith spoke to the commissioners about current programming and upcoming events for the Encinitas Library. Jess Roberts spoke to the commissioners about including the City arts programs in the commission work plan. 6. CHANGES TO THE AGENDA None. 7. APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 1, 2023 YOUTH COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES ACTION COMMISSIONER VIEMEISTER MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 1, 2023 YOUTH COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER CO. FY 22-23 Youth Commission Work Plan Commissioners reviewed the Youth Commission Work Plan goals and discussed Ad-hoc Committee reports and updates. 9. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS 9A. Department Updates Recreation Services Manager Hamer Manager Hamer announced upcoming events in April and volunteer opportunities for commissioners to participate in the Egg Hunt Festival, Arbor Day and the State of the City. Commissioners were also informed of a new volunteer platform set for implementation near the end of April to provide residents with greater accessibility to volunteer for City events and programs. 10.
