1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Ruppert called the meeting to order at 4:38 P.M.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Ruppert, Vice-Chair Gonzalez and Commissioners Ca. Ballow, Co. Ballow,
Leschensky, Su and Viemeister.
Also Present: Recreation Center Manager Goodsell, Recreation Supervisor Anderson,
and Management Analyst Fisher.
Absent: Commissioners Junus and Rohatgi.

Kelly McCormick spoke to the commissioners about volunteering for the study buddy
program.

Commissioners reviewed the Youth Commission Work Plan goals and discussed Ad-hoc
Committee reports and updates.

9A. Department Updates Recreation Center Manager Goodsell
Manager Goodsell began her update by announcing upcoming City events, including Art

Summer Camp recreation guide is now available with registration for programs opening

on March 6. The new Cultural Arts Center is under construction and hopes to be open
for operation by Summer 2024. Lastly, Manager Goodsell announced that the City has
part-time job openings for a kitchen assistant and seaside day camp counselors.
10. COMMISSIONER MEMBER INITIATED AGENDA ITEMS
10A. Youth Mental Health Awareness Presentation by Commissioner Mace Viemeister.
Kelly McCormick spoke in support of the presentation.
Commissioner Viemeister presented and discussed youth mental health awareness with
the commission. The presentation included definitions, types of mental disorders, warning
signs and resources.
