Chair Corrales-Schmitt led the discussion regardingthe FY 2022-23Commission for the Arts Work
Plan. Discussion tookplace on items withupdates to be shared.Therewere some minor revisions
regarding Ad Hoc Committee members.

9A. CulturalArts DivisionReportArtsAdministrator Murphy
Arts Administrator Murphy shared that iPalpiti Festival took placein mid-July.The event attendance
was lower thanthe previous year,butthe performances were well received by the public. The Music
by the Sea series begins in September and staff is finalizing scheduling and contracts.Staff has begun
workingon the Dia de los Muertos eventwith Encinitas Friends of the Arts with expanded
programmingon October 27.Staff iscontinuing workon the Arts and Economic Prosperity survey. The
fabrication of the Encinitas Blvd undercrossing artwork is still in progress byartist Amy Baur.

Commissioner Valenzuelashared thatthe Passport to Persian Calligraphyevent on June 18, 2022
raised about $3,000 for future programming.The EncinitasFlea Market event on July23, 2022also
raised about $3,000.EFA recently hired a project manager to assist with Dia de los Muertos.
