Chair Corrales-Schmitt led the discussion regardingthe FY 2021-22 Commission for the Arts Work
Plangoals and outcomes. There were some minor revisions.

COMMISSIONER ABRAHAMMOVED APPROVAL OF FINALIZING THEFY 2021-22 COMMISISON
WORK PLAN OUTCOMES WITHTHE CHANGES ASDISCUSSED. SECOND BY COMISSIONER
LEES, AND THEMOTION CARRIED 6-0 (COMMISSIONER DILLEY WAS ABSENT).
8C. Commission for the Arts Annual Work Plan
Commissioner Valenzuela led the discussionregarding the FY 2021-22 Commissionfor theArts Work
Plan and members of the Ad Hoc committees providedupdatesregarding the goals and outcomes.
Arts Administrator Murphy led the discussion regarding the FY 2022-23 potential Work Plan items.

9A.Director’s Report–Parks,Recreation andCultural Arts Director Karlen
Director Karlen shared that the City’s annual Egg Huntwill be held onSaturday, April 16 th at Encinitas
CommunityPark, and that the City will be holding a Citizen ParticipationMeeting on Wednesday, April

9B. CulturalArts Division Report–ArtsAdministrator Murphy
Arts Administrator Murphy shared that staff is workingon getting the application ready for 2023 Visual
ArtExhibitionsand the deadline will be the last Thursday in September. She shared that in 2023 there
will be four exhibitioncyclesandfourArt Nights.Arts Administrator Murphy shared that the
Wednesdays@Noon concerts have been very popular,andthe City hassuccessfullyenabled the
streaming of the concerts into the nine Encinitas elementary school libraries for the children to view
after they return from spring break.The artists and the school districtarethrilled about this new
development.Shealso sharedthat the Community Grant Program applicationsare being submitted
and the deadline for submittal is Friday, April 8, 2022 at 3:00pm.

Commissioner Lees shared that EFA is planning on submittingtheir Community Grant Program
applicationand EFA receiveda grant from the City tomanage the City’sArtscalendar. There is a
Persian Calligraphyevent coming up on June 18, 2022 at the EncinitasCommunity Center.
