1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Ling called the meeting to order at 2:05 P.M.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Ling, Vice Chair Angel and Commissioners Farley, Hanwit, Kramer-Levander and
Rau.
Absent: None
There is one vacancy.
Also Present: Recreation Center Manager Goodsell, Recreation Services Manager Stayton and
Management Analyst Gilliam
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

Approval of the September 21, 2021 regular meeting minutes.

MINUTES, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HANWITT. MOTION CARRIED. AYES: ANGEL, FARLEY,
HANWIT, KRAMER-LEVANDER, LING, RAU. NAYS: NONE.

8A. Senior Citizen Commission Annual Work Plan Review.
Commissioners reported on the FY2021/22 Senior Citizen Commission Work Plan with stated goal outcomes.
9. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
9A. Senior Center Operations Report and Department Updates.
Recreation Center Manager Goodsell provided updates for the department, Senior Center programs and
services, and the Nutrition Program. She shared that residents will receive the Winter Recreation Guide by
mail beginning December 4 th. Manager Goodsell shared that the tickets for the New Year’s Eve dance went on
sale on November 15 th and asked the commissioners if any would be interested in volunteering for the event.

Manager Goodsell also shared that Encinitas Art Night will be held on December 11 and a shuttle service will
be available.
