Arts Administrator Murphy presented the Commission with themeeting dates for FY2022-23.

BY COMMISSIONER CORRALES-SCHMITT, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0 (COMMISSIONER
ABRAHAM WAS ABSENT, AND THERE IS ONE VACANCY).
8C. Commission for the Arts Annual Work Plan
Commissioner Valenzuela led the discussion regarding the FY 2021-22 Commissionfor theArts Work
Plan and members of the Ad Hoc committees providedupdates regarding the goals and outcomes.
Arts Administrator Murphy led the discussion regarding the FY 2022-23 potential Work Plan items.

ON THE ENCINITAS FRIENDS OF THE ARTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS, SECOND BY

ABRAHAM WAS ABSENT, AND THERE IS ONE VACANCY).
COMMISSIONER REDLITZ MOTIONED TO RECOMMEND COMMISSIONER HEBERTTO SERVE
ON THE ENCINITAS FRIENDS OF THE ARTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS, SECOND BY

8E. Community Grant Program Evaluation Panel
ACTION

INFORMATIONALITEMS
9A. Director’s Report – Parks, Recreation andCultural Arts Director Karlen
Director Karlen shared that the City receivedtwo awards for the Best Facility Design, for the outdoor
patio space at the Community and Senior Center, and for Outstanding Park Design, for Olympus Park.
Program registration started today for summer camps and some courses are already full. Special Event
Permitting is now taking place through the Customer Self Service (CSS) portal, rentals are increasing at
the Community and Senior Center. Saturday, April 16 th isthe annual Egg Hunt at Encinitas Community
Park. Director Karlen shared that the City has receivedgreat reviews regarding the new concessionaire
at Moonlight Beachwhooffers food and rentals He also shared that the City will be in a collaboration
with theEncinitasLibrary and will offer Story Trails for the month of April at Encinitas Community Park.
9B. Cultural Arts Division Report – ArtsAdministrator Murphy
Arts Administrator Murphy shared that art exhibitionshave beeninstalled. She also shared that for Art
Night held on March 12, due to the construction taking place at City Hall, the two artists that have
displaysat City Hall will be exhibiting their art at the Community Center in the Banquet Hall. Arts
AdministratorMurphy also shared that EFA voted to increase the amount of funding for Art Night
performers.
