1.CALL TO ORDER
Chair Pacheco called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners C. Colombo, G. Colombo, Gonzalez, Junus, Leschensky,
Pacheco, Ruppert and Su. There is one vacancy
Also Present: Recreation Services Manager Stayton, Manager Goodsell, Recreation
Supervisor Anderson, and Management Analyst Gilliam.
Absent: None

COMMISSIONER C. COLOMBO MOVED APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER 1, 2021
REGULAR YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES, SECOND BY
COMMISSIONER GONZALEZ, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 8-0 (ONE VACANCY).
8. ACTION ITEMS
8A. FY 2021-2022 Youth Commission Work Plan
Recommended Action: 1) Review, discuss, and finalize the draft work plan. 2) Complete
the assignment of commissioners to each goal [maximum of (3) commissioners per goal].
Staff liaison Anderson introduced the draft work plan. Chair Pacheco led the
Commissioners through the potential work plan initiatives and facilitated the work plan
discussion. Manager Goodsell provided additional direction regarding the ad hoc
committees.
ACTION
Commissioner G. Colombo moved approval of the FY 2021-2022 Youth Commission
Work Plan as stated in the meeting, second by Commissioner Gonzalez, and the motion
carried 8-0 (one vacancy).

9.INFORMATIONALITEMS
11A. Department Updates –Recreation Services Manager Stayton
Manager Stayton introduced herself and announced that there are several part-time
positions available at the Community & Senior Center and they are seeking additional
contract instructors. Manager Stayton shared that the Movie in the Park event will be
held on October 9, State of the City will be held on October 12, Art Night will be held on
October 16, and Dia de los Muertos will be held on October 30. The winter recreation
guide is under production and registration will open on December 6.
