Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,Commissioners were in attendance via video conference.

ActionItems
8A. Review the Approved FY 2021/22 Commission for the Arts Work Plan. Contact Person: Arts
Program Administrator Gilliam.
Recommended Action:Reviewthe FY 2021/22 Commission Work Plan andvote as needed.
Administrator Gilliam shared that the FY 2021/22 Work Plan was approved by Council on June 9 th.
There will be no August Commission for theArts meeting. Staff is awaiting the final response regarding
the Planning Department’s review of the Draft Arts Master Plan. Chair Abraham attended the Cultural
Tourism meeting and reported what was discussed.The Encinitas BoulevardUndercrossing mosaic
has receivedfinal approval from CalTrans.Administrator Gilliam reportedthat theRFP for the sculpture
installation program is being developed. Administrator Gilliam also shared that Art NightEncinitasis on
July 31 from 6pm –9pm. He requested the Commissioners volunteer for this event.

CommissionerSims shared that the iPalpiti Festival is taking place this week and Encinitas Dia de los
Muertoswill be an in-personeventon Saturday,October 30, 2021.

Staff liaison Gilliam shared that the iPalpiti orchestra arrived today but due to COVID-19visa
restrictions, three artistswere unable to travel. He also shared that the Arts Division isin theprocess
of hiring a Recreation Services Assistant.
