CITY OF ENCINITAS YOUTH COMMISSION

1.CALL TO ORDER
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all Commissioners were in attendance via video
conference.
Vice-Chair Sakai called the meeting to order at 4:33 P.M.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners Blakely, Burr, Colombo, Gonzalez, Pacheco, Sakai and
Schneider.
Also Present: Recreation Supervisor Hernandez, Recreation Services Manager Karlen
and Management Analyst Gilliam.

7A. FY 2020-2021 Youth Commission Proposed Work Plan
Staff liaison Hernandez reviewed the 2020-2021 Youth Commission Work Plan and
reviewed stated goals and members of the Ad Hoc Committees.
9. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
8A. Department Updates Manager Karlen
Manager Karlen shared that the department is still offering virtual programs due to
COVID-19 and will begin offering some in-person gym time by reservation beginning
next week. Some new programs will be offered in November and Dec
in-person programs will be held outdoors. Staff is working on the Winter Recreation
Guide with a combination of in-person and virtual programming.
