Call to Order
Commissioner Corrales-Schmitt called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m.

ACTION
COMMISSIONER REDLITZ MOVED APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 4, 2019 REGULAR
MEETING MINUTES. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER SABECK, AND THE MOTION
CARRIED 4-0 (COMMISSIONERS STEFANKO AND SIMS WERE ABSENT, AND
COMMISSIONER LEES ABSTAINED).

Action Items
8A. Review 2019/20 Commission for the Arts Work Plan.
Staff liaison Gilliam presented the 2019/20 Commission for the Arts Work Plan and provided
updates regarding surveys completed by the artists who participated in the final Art Night of the
year held on November 23 rd. The KPBS Arts Briefs will be added in 2020 for the month prior to
Art Night and will provide publicity via TV, radio, and internet. Staff liaison Gilliam informed the
Commission that in 2020, exhibiting artists with the City will have a event page on the Citys
website calendar to promote their exhibit. Staff liaison Gilliam announced that the California Arts
Council that will be meeting at the Oceanside public library on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. 6:00
p.m. and encouraged Commissioners to attend if able.

Informational Items
9A. Public Art Report. Contact Person: Arts Program Administrator Gilliam
Staff liaison Gilliam reported that staff is working on the RFP for Encinitas Blvd. Undercrossing. The
request for funding for the Sculpture Installation Program is slated to go before Council in December.
9B. Encinitas Friends of the Arts Report: Commissioner Sabeck
Commissioner Sabeck reported that the Member Appreciation Reception will take place on
December 5, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Encinitas Library.
9C. Cultural Arts Division Report. Contact Person: Arts Program Administrator Gilliam
