REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF ENCINITAS YOUTH COMMISSION
MAY 6, 2020 4:30 P.M., 505 S. VULCAN AVENUE, ENCINITAS, CA
1.CALL TO ORDER
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all Commissioners were in attendance via video
conference.
Chair Diaz called the meeting to order at 4:33 P.M.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners Gilligan, Kulick, Schneider, Colombo, Sakai, Foo, Robinson,
Diaz and one vacancy.
Also Present: Recreation Supervisor Hernandez, Recreation Services Manager Karlen
and Management Analyst Gilliam
Absent: None

Approval of the March 4, 2020 regular meeting minutes
ACTION
COMMISSIONER SCHNEIDER MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 4, 2020
REGULAR YOUTH COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES, SECOND BY
COMMISSIONER KULICK, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 8-0 (THERE WAS ONE
VACANCY).
7. ACTION ITEMS
7A. FY 2019-20 Youth Commissions Annual Work Plan Flavored Tobacco Ban.
Recreation Manager Karlen read emails received by 3:00 p.m. regarding this agenda item
from the following: Peggy Walker, Kelly McCormick, Judi Strang,
Kay Coleman.
Commissioner Colombo made a motion to follow the City of Solana Beach Ordinance 513
to prohibit the sale and distribution of flavored tobacco products, second by Commissioner
Foo, and the motion carried 8-0 (there was one vacancy).
8. ADJOURNMENT

COMMISSIONER GILLIGAN MOVED ADJOURNMENT AT 5:30 P.M., SECOND BY
COMMISSIONER COLOMBO, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 8-0 (THERE WAS ONE
VACANCY).
