1. CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Lerchbacker called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners Lerchbacker, Powell, Angel, Diller, Lennox, and Schnack
Also Present: Senior Center Manager Goodsell, Recreation Services Manager Karlen, and
Management Analyst Colombo
Absent: Parks and Recreation Director Campbell, Commissioner Stewart
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

4A. Parks and Recreation Director, Jennifer Campbell
Parks and Recreation Director Campbell was unable to attend and will be providing the
presentation at a future meeting.
4B. San Diego Workforce Partnership, Program Advisor Heather Bischoff
Program Advisor Bischoff shared a presentation which outlined services offered through the
San Diego Workforce Partnership. The mission of the Workforce Development Board for San
Diego County is to empower job seekers to meet the current and future workforce needs of
employers.

8. ACTION ITEMS
8A. Senior Citizen Commission Annual Work Plan Review and Goal Setting
Commissioners provided updates regarding the FY 2019/20 Senior Citizen Commission Work
Plan goals.
8B. Sahm Family Foundation Grant
Manager Goodsell discussed the Sahm Family Foundation Grant and requested the formation
of an ad-hoc committee to review options and provide feedback. Ad-hoc committee member
volunteers identified: Commissioners Lerchbacker, Powell and Angel.
9. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
9A. Senior Center Operations Report.
Senior Center Manager Goodsell provided an update on Senior Center programs, events,
services and the Senior Nutrition Grant.
10. COMMISSION MEMBER INITIATED AGENDA ITEM
Commissioner Powell indicated that a proposal is being developed for a pilot program to assist
Senior Citizen lifestyle assistance with minimal cost to the City, and in partnership with the
Community Resource Center (CRC). This proposal will be brought forw
in February as a Commission Member Initiated Agenda Item.
