9. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
9A.DEPARTMENT UPDATES — MANAGER KARLEN
Manager Karlen reported that construction on the Standard Specific Park site is
tentatively scheduled to start in January, and tentatively scheduled to be
completed in the summer. He indicated that the naming of the park will be
conducted by a process of accepting suggestions, and the name selection
process will be based on the City's naming standards. Manager Karlen also
reported that for those Commissioners who are at legal working age, there are
part -time work opportunities in the Community Center /Senior Center as well as
camp counselor opportunities at the Seaside Day Camp. He indicated if anyone
is interested, they may apply for these positions. In addition, Manager Karlen
reported that the winter programming brochures (with new exciting programs) are
currently being developed and will be available sometime in mid - November.
