Vice Chair Abraham called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.

COMMISSIONER SCHMITT MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MAY 6, 2019 REGULAR
MEETING MINUTES. SECOND BY COMMISSIONER SABECK, AND THE MOTION
CARRIED 5-0 (COMMISSIONERS LEES AND STEFANKO WERE ABSENT.)

Action Items
8A. Review 2018/19 Commission for the Arts Work Plan.
Staff liaison Gilliam presented the 2018/19 Commission for the Arts Work Plan and discussed
the accomplishments by the Commission over the past year.

Informational Items
9A. Public Art Report. Contact Person: Arts Program Administrator Gi
Staff Liaison Gilliam reported that the five locations for the Sculpture Installations are awaiting final
approval from the Engineering Department. City Budget was approved and funds are allocated for
public arts projects. Staff Liaison Gilliam also provided an update regarding the statmosaic
project at the Santa Fe Undercrossing.
9B. Encinitas Friends of the Arts Report: Commissioner Sabeck
Commissioner Sabeck reported that the Passport to Dance was a successful event and future events
are on the planning stage.
9C. Cultural Arts Division Report. Contact Person: Arts Program
Staff Liaison Gilliam provided an update regarding the new concert grand piano for the Encinitas
Community and Senior Center.
