4A.Encinitas Parks and Recreation Director Campbell
Director Campbell provided updates on the shade structures at Encinitas Community Park,
Leo Mullen Sports Park and Sun Vista Park. Final budget approval for FY19/20 and FY
20/21 and the six year CIP are to be approved at the June 12, 2019 Council meeting. The

Coastal Rail Trail Grand Opening was held on May 9. The ribbon cutting for the Cardiff

Living Shore Line will be held on May 22. The Maggie Houlihan Memorial dog park at
Encinitas Community Park is currently closed for renovations and is scheduled to reopen on
June 1, 2019. Several sports fields are closed for renovation to keep the turf healthy. A

Community Meeting was held on May1regarding Trail 82 and Trail 95 and was well

attended. The Standard Pacific Park Site is goingto the Planning Commission on June 6
for design review.

and selected ad-hoc committees to accomplish the FY 2019/20 Senior Citizen Commission
Work Plan goals.

9A. Senior Center Operations Report.
Senior Center Manager Goodsell providedanupdate onSenior Center programs.On June 1,
2019 a Zero Waste Fair will be held at the EUSD Farm Lab from 10am-1pm. Sharon Cooper
will be recognized on May 22 at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center at 2pm and again

at the Encinitas City Council Meeting on May 22at 6pm. Commissioner Vance retired from
the Senior Citizen Commission. Four applications were received to fill the vacancy. The Senior

Citizen Commission Work Plan will be on the City Council consent calendar for the June 12
meeting.
