9A.Department Updates –Manager Karlen
Manager Karlen gave Department staffing updates. He indicatedthe
recreation guide will go out to homes at the end of February. Summer job
opportunities include positions with day camps, youth sports groups, and a
new Ambassador Program. He reported on meetings with the Boys and
Girls Club and County Library. Karlen stressed the importance of
communicatingwith Staff Liaison Rundle regarding upcoming
announcements and events.

9B.Manager Karlenannounced that the Swim Test dates for Junior Guards

are in the spring this year, springregistration opens February 25.
Manager Karlen announcedthe Department’s new Recreation Supervisor
Joshua Lainfiesta.Supervisor Lainfiesta will take over for Troy Mickelson
who was promoted to the Center Assistant Manager.
9C. Important upcoming meeting dates –Manager Karlen
Manager Karlenemphasized the importance of responding to Staff Liaison
Rundle regarding accomplishing goals on the Work Plan. Cultural Tourism
meeting is held on the first Thursday of the month at 9:00am and
Commissioners were encouraged to attend.
