2018-11-07 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES CITY OF ENCINITAS YOUTH COMMISSION November 7, 2018 4:30 P.M., 505 S. VULCAN AVENUE, ENCINITAS, CA 1. CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Vitenson called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners Vitenson, Tommy Yarbrough, Kulick, Tyler Yarbrough, Gilligan, Schneider, and Sakai (arriving at 4:34 p.m.) Also Present: Staff Liaison Rundle, Manager Karlen and Analyst Roff Absent: Drewelow, Muir, Galloway and Bruhahn 3. APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 3, 2018 YOUTH COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES ACTION COMMISSIONER GILLIGAN MOVED APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 3, 2018 YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER KULICK, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. (COMMISSIONERS SAKAI, MUIR, GALLOWAY AND BRUHAHN WERE ABSENT.) 8. ACTION ITEMS FY 2018-19 Youth Commission Work Plan 8A. Recommended Action: Discuss work plan and report on work plan related activities . Staff Liaison Rundle reported the FY 2017-18 work plan outcomes and the draft FY 2018-19 work plan would be presented to City Council on November 14, 2018. Manager Karlen reported on the grant application for Beacons Beach and the Holiday Parade. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS 9A. City Council Liaison Report No report 9B. Department Updates Manager Karlen reported on the winter brochure, the spring and summer camp brochure, changes in department staff, the county grant for the Community/Senior Center dance floor, and budget preparations for the next two fiscal years. 9C. Youth Commission T-Shirts Supervisor Rundle brought commission shirts for commission members. 9D. December 1 Holiday Parade Supervisor Rundle requested commissioner’s participation in the Holiday Parade. 9E. January 2, 2019 Youth Commission Meeting Supervisor Rundle requested confirmation of availability for the January 2, 2019 meeting. Commissioners will check their calendars and follow up via email. 9F. FY 2017-18 Youth Commission Work Plan Outcomes Report to City Council Supervisor Rundle reported the FY 17-18 work plan outcomes and draft FY 18-19 work plan will be on consent at the November 14, 2018 Council meeting and Chair Bruhahn will attend the meeting. 10.
