The president called the Board to order and requesteQ the secretary
for a report upon the matter of calling the Board together as a
Boord. of Equalization.
The Secretary then presented his affidavit to the Fresident,
J. prank Cullen, which said affidavit, was read aloud to the board

That he is the Secretary of the Cardiff Irrigation District; That

Transcript of San Diego, a news paper of general circulationt vubliso
In San Diego County, State of California, which said notice iq in

That said notice -as published in the said Daily Transcript on the at
4W said sixth day of August, 1915, and on eadh and every week day there
after for a period of twenty (2n) days as required by Act 2TS4-"7
of Chapter 253 of the General Laws of the State of California more
yartioularly known as the `Rright Act' which said act prescribes the
method for such notices of the Board of Directors sitting as a Board
of Equalization.
The affidavit of Frank Graadier was the read by the secretary.
Said affidavit is in words and figures as fellows:

Frank Grandier, being duly sworn, says that he is a citizen of the
United States over eighteen years of age,and not interested as a rars
or o'herwise in the above named matter. That he is, and at all times
hereinafter mentioned was* principal clerk of the printers aiad pub-
lishers of THE DAILY TRANSCRIPT. a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published daily, Sundays excepted, at the City of San Die
go, in the aboved named county and state; that as such vrinetpal elek
of the printers and publishers he has, and at all times herein men-
tioned has had, charge of all the advertisements published in said
newspaper. That the NOTICE of which the annex clipping is a "rimed
copy, has been published twenty consecutive times
in said newspaper for a period of twenty three clap
from August 7,19le to August 99,1,1*, both inelu-
sive, to wits upon Aupst 7.e.9.10.19.23.24.2l�•IR.

' ! California, more particularly known as the bright Act prescribes that
V on or before the first Monday in August of each year the assessor must
eomple'te his assessment book and deliver it to the secretary of the
Board of Directors, who must immediately give notice thereof, and the
time the Boardof Directors, acting as a Board of Equalization will meet
to equalize assessments, by publication in a newspaper published in the
District for not less than twenty days from the first publication and
that the said book must remain in the office of the secretary for in-
spection for all persons Interested.
And it appearing from the affidavit of J.L.Minney that said noti^e

EgUALIZATION,CARDIFF IRRIGATION DISTRICT.
Notice is hereby given that the assessor of the ahove Distrfet has del*
eyed to me h!* assessment book, containing the assessments of property
for the District for the year of ItIM. The Board of Directors od the
Cardiff Irrigation District,county of San Diego, State of California
will meet and sit as a Board of Equalisation, for the purpose of squall
zing assessments as made by the assessor of said District, on all reallfi
property of the District, commencing Friday, the Seth day of August
1*18 at loo'clock a,m, of said day and will continue in session as long
as may be ne^essary. The assessor's book of the district is now in my
office in the Flatiron Building at Cardiff for inspection, and may be a
seen between the hours of 10 o clock a.m. and 3 0'0100k P.Y. on all bui
iness days, including the 29 day of August. 1918. All persons wishing A
to make objections to valuations and assessments as shown by sat.d boot
may appear before the said board at the time designated herein as the
time for the meeting of said Board of Equalization.

this Board is now duly and legally convexWd as a Board of Equalization

and is duly and regularly organized as such and is prepared to equalize

assessments in said District for the year 1911-
Which resolution was seconded by J. L. Hinney and upon a vote being
taken was unanimously adopted.
The President then stated that the Board was duly and regularly
organized and would Immediately sit as a board of Equalization to hear
and determine such objections to valuations and assessments as come be-
before them.
The meeting having been continued during the day 150th of August.
