Monday, January 9, 2017, 5:00 p.m.
1. Call to Order
Chair Thum called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Present: Commissioners Sabeck (arrived at 5:06 p.m.), Tanha, Thum, Stefanko
and Kuta (arrived at 5:17 p.m.)
Absent: Commissioners Filsinger
Also Present: Arts Administrator Gilliam and Management Analyst Roff

Communications Consultant Chance Shay presented information on the City’s
five (5) social media platforms.

Chair Thum requested agenda item 9A be moved to follow agenda item 3.
7. Approve the December 5, 2016 Regular Meeting Minutes
ACTION
COMMISSIONERS SABECK MOVED APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 5,
2016 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER
STEFANKO, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. (COMMISSIONER FILSINGER
WAS ABSENT.)

8A. Appoint Commissioners to Ad-hoc Committees and report on goals of the
commission Work Plan, Contact Person: Chair Thum
ACTION
COMMISSIONERS STEFANKO MOVED TO APPOINT COMMISSIONER
TOMOKO TO THE ARTIST RETROSPECTIVE AD-HOC COMMITTEE,
SECOND BY COMMISSIONER TANHA, AND THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

to accommodate live/work for artists.

Commissioner Kuta reported on potential opportunities with the Leichtag
Foundation.
Commissioner Tanha reported on the tapestry show at the San Diego Botanic
Garden.
Commissioner Thum reported on the Commissioner Holiday Reception.
