1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Vance called the meeting to order at 2:02 PM

Present: Chair Vance, Vice Chair Henry, Commissioners Bolus, King, Melikian, and
Simon
Absent: None
Also Present: Recreation Superintendent Gorham, Senior Center Manager Goodsell,
Recreation Supervisor Rundle and Management Analyst Roff
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

Wavecrest Chairman Jim Esposito provided the history of Wavecrest and an overview of
the event.
4B. Aging and Independence Services Programs – Adult Protective Services Supervisor Carlos
Morales
Supervisor Carlos Morales reviewed the services provided by AIS.

Approval of the April 15, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes
ACTION
COMMISSIONER KING MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE APRIL 15, 2014 REGULAR
MEETING MINUTES, COMMISSIONER MELIKIAN SECONDED THE MOTION AND THE
MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

8A. Senior Citizen Commission FY 2014/15 Ad Hoc Committees
Commissioners King and Simon volunteered to serve on the Connecting Seniors to
Available Resources Ad Hoc Committee.
Commissioners Vance, Henry and Melikian volunteered to serve on the Housing for
Seniors Ad Hoc Committee.
Commissioners Henry and Bolus volunteered to serve on the Senior Citizen of the Year
Award Ad Hoc Committee.

Commissioner Bolus reported on the Community Grant Panel.
Recreation Supervisor Rundle provided information on the Older Americans Interpretive Walk
sponsored by San Diego Botanic Gardens and the City of Encinitas Parks and Recreation
Department.
Commissioners discussed the June special meeting tour.
