1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Chair King called the meeting to order at 2:01 PM
Present: Chair King, Vice-Chair Simon (arriving at 2:05 pm), Commissioners
Bolus, Drielsma, Harp, Vance and Henry
Absent: None
Also Present: Recreation Superintendent Gorham, Senior Center Manager Goodsell,
Recreation Supervisor Rundle, Management Analyst Roff
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

COMMISSIONER BOLUS SECONDED THE MOTION AND THE MOTION CARRIED
6-0 (COMMISSIONER SIMON ABSENT).
4. APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 19, 2013 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
ACTION
COMMISSIONER HARP MOTIONED TO ADOPT THE NOVEMBER 19, 2013 MEETING
MINUTES, COMMISSIONER DRIELSMA SECONDED THE MOTION AND THE
MOTION CARRIED 6-0 (COMMISSIONER VANCE ABSTAINED).
5. PRESENTATIONS
Transit Feasibility Study – Michael Strong, Associate Planner
The presentation included an overview of existing transit services, study goals and
objectives, survey methodology and results, and developing future service options.

The subcommittee recommended having a presentation from the Community
Resource Center at the February 18, 2014 regular meeting.

Week.

3. Commissioners Corner:

Commissioner Drielsma reported on the 20 Anniversary of the Northridge
Earthquake, and requested the Commission continue to focus on the necessity of
Emergency Preparedness.
Commissioner Simon reported 10,000 Baby Boomers are retiring daily.
Commissioners Drielsma and Harp will not reapply for another Commission term.
Recreation Superintendent Gorham provided department updates.
