Three Steps to Updating the Engineering Design Manual
1. Make hardcopies:
Deb’s office
Masih’s office
Stephanie’s office
Steve’s office
Angela’s office
Glen’s office
2. PDF file is kept on Website – Document Central – only needs to be edited from source
document
3.Laserfiche version:
Stephanie will make changes in her Word version on and save it to T: Stephanie/Engineering
Design Manual Draft in the appropriate chapter or appendix. She will then send the link which
can be saved to your desktop or a personal Webupdates folder to work with. Take this
corrected version, and “Print” to Laserfiche Snapshot 8 - following these steps:

Repository “Server” Choose from dropdown: docmgmt.encinitas.local
Repository selection – dropdown is City of Encinitas
Log into repository using Windows Authentication OK
Name: defaults to “Updates to Engineering Design Manual
Folder: hit elipses ….. “website publish”
Volume “Use Parent Folder’s Default Volume”
Scroll the long horizontal bar over to the left to Template to the drop down menu go to the very
top to choose “No Template Assigned”, hit OK.
Snapshot will place the file in Website Publish in Laserfiche.
IF document contains color, then at the point where
Call or e-mail Clerk’s office to remove and replace the copy in Website Publish/Engineering/EDM
If new page, get the ID number, and copy the ID number from Laserfiche in to the hyperlink i.e.
Show example.
