CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Chair King called the meeting to order at 2:16 p.m.
Present: Vice-Chair Simon, Commissioners Bolus, Drielsma, Harp, Ortley, and
Vance
Absent: Chair King
Also Present: Recreation Superintendent Gorham, Senior Center Manager Goodsell,
Management Analyst Roff
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

COMMISSIONER VANCE SECONDED THE MOTION AND THE MOTION CARRIED
6-0 (COMMISSIONER KING ABSENT).
APPROVAL OF THE MAY 21, 2013 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES.
ACTION
COMMISSIONER HARP MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MAY 21,
2013 MEETING MINUTES, COMMISSIONER BOLUS SECONDED THE MOTION
AND THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0 (COMMISSIONER KING ABSENT).
PRESENTATION
Transit Feasibility Study Overview
Associate Planner Michael Strong presented an overview of the upcoming Transit
Feasibility Study and requested a representative from the Senior Commission participate
in the study.

SECTION 2: ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
1. Transit Feasibility Study
Commissioner Bolus volunteered to participate in the study.
2. Commission Member Resource Handbook and Ethics Training
Commissioners reported the training included good examples, was heavy on ethics
and would like to see additional training on parliamentary procedures.
3. 2013-2014 Work Plan Community Outreach Goal 4
ACTION
COMMISSIONER VANCE MOTIONED BASED ON THE RESPONSE OF THE IT
DEPARTMENT TO PLACE UPDATING THE VIDEO ON THE NEXT AGENDA FOR
FURTHER DISCUSSION, COMMISSIONER DRIELSMA SECONDED THE
MOTION AND THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0 (COMMISSIONER KING ABSENT).

Commissioner Drielsma reported Oceanside cancelled the Out & About program due
to a lack of funding.
Commissioner Harp provided historical data on the Senior Foundation, and announced
the Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser is August 26, the Moonlight Beach Fest is October 12,
the Commission will be dark in July and August, and September will be a special
meeting.
