Dear :dr . Wagenbach :
Your petition praying for the. vacation of a portion
of Sanford Street , Lying easterly of the cast line: of tiygeia
Street , in Leucadia , came up for hearing on December 30 , 1940 .
At tizat time there was presented to tine Board of
Supervisors a letter from the San Diego County Planning Com-
mission , which letter contains the following statements :
" A committee from this Co:-a mission investigated the
street in question and found that the portion requested for
vacation is shot used at the present time . According to the
street system in Leucadia vie find that most of the through
streets are north and south and there are only a few cross
streets . The cornaiittee is of the opinion that when this area t
develops in the future there will be need for some east and west
streets . It is possible that at some time in the future Sanford
Street can be extended to connoet with County road known as
Hymettus Avenue . This extension would be approximately four
hundred feet on good grade and alignment . The present develop-
ment along Sanford Street would probably not warrant such an
extension , but the present right of ;tray should be held by the
County for future connections .
" At its regular meeting of November 23 this Commission
went on record as recommending to your Honorable Body that this
petition be denied . "

bece,nber 30th , adopted its order concurring in the recomwenda-
tion of the Planning CO:'Aission .

in North Leucadia has been presented to your Honorable

Please be advised that this District has
recently constructed a lateral pipe line 300 feet in
length , in the west section of the street petitioned to
be closed , and feel that the property owners should pay
the cost of this line in case the petition is accepted
favorably.
