SUBJECT : Vacation of Various Streets , Colony Olivenhain.
1 . Reference is made to your letter of October 24, 1958 , concerning
the request of Herman and Mary Wiegand for vacation of portions of 9th ,
10th and "Gil Streets , Colony Olivenhain.
29 At its regular meeting of November 28 , 1958 , the Planning Commis-
sion considered this matter and recommended that subject request be denied.
3 . Reasons for this recommendation include the following:
a. 9th Street provides access to many lots in Colony Oliven-
hain , and the vacation of portions of it has been protested
by an adjacent property owner .
b. 10th Street is the only access from Rancho Santa Fe Road to
the north area of Rancho Santa Fe .
c. IIGII Street connects 9th and 10th Streets and is necessary to
keep 9th Street from becoming an unreasonably long dead-end
street .

Gentlemen :
On behalf of our clients , Herman lNiegand and Mary Wiegand , this
office will request the closing of the southerly half of Tenth
Street and of the Northerly one - half of Ninth Street between
the center lines of G Street and J Street in the Colony Oliven -
hein in this county . It is also requested that the easterly
half of G Street between Ninth Street and Tenth Street in the
Colony Olivenhein be closed .
For your further information , Mr . � nd . Mrs . Wiegand are the
owners of Acre Lots 54 and 55 of the Colony ypJl2venhei. ra. I�7nd tFie
streets mentioned herein border these 1ots . %"�hc� westerly . half
of J Street which lies easterly of Acre Lot 55 was vacated to
public use by order of your Board made on March 4 , 1915 , and
the portion of H Street lying between Acre Lots 54 and 55 was
vacated to public use by a resolution of your Board adopted on
July 7 , 1941 .
Your records will indicate that the streets in question have nev -
er been accepted for public use by the County .
Your early attention to this request will be deeply appreciated
both by Mr , and Mrs . Wiegand and by this office .
