ON MOTION of Supervisor Cosens , seconded by Supervisor Bird , the
following resolution is adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
San Diego , State of California $
WHEREAS. on April 24 , 1962, the Board adopted a resolution declaring
Ito intention to vacate and abandon the following described county highway in the
County of San Diego , State of California;
That portion of "G " Street as shown on Map No .
326 of COLONY OLIVENHAIN filed in the office
Of the County Recorder of San Diego County , lying
southerly of the prolongation of the south line of
11th Street and northerly of the prolongation of the
north tine of 9th Street. EXCEPTING therefrom
that portion thereof Lying between the prolongations
of the north and south lines of 10th Street, said 9th .
10th and 11th Streets being shown on said Map 326.
and
WHEREAS , the matter came on for hearing before the Board of Supervisors
of San Diego County , California. this 29th day of May, 1962s at 11 : 00 a. m . ; and it
appears from the Affidavit of Publication and the Affidavit of Posting on file in said
proceedings that due and proper notice of said hearing has been given as required
by law; and
WHEREASs it appears further that no written protests or objections to said
proposed vacation have been filed, and no oral protests or objections have been made; and
WHEREAS . the Planning Commission, in its - report filed in the office of the
Clerk of the Board of Supervisors on April 18. 1962 ( Document No. 316744) , recom -
mended that said highway be vacated and abandoned provided the abutting property
owner along R. S. 554 in Block 65 . Map No. 326s grants to the County, without cost ,
all that property which lies within 30 feet from the centerline of R. S . 554; and
WHEREAS. in Minute Item No. 950 this date , the Board accepted an Easement
executed by Chester R . Carter in accordance with said requirement; NOW THEREFORE
The Board of Supervisors hereby finds that due and proper notice of the
hearing on the resolution of intention to vacate said highway has been given as required
by law , and that said highway hereinafter described is unnecessary for present or
prospective public use.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hearing be and it is
hereby closed, and that that certain county highway hereinafter described be and it is
hereby vacated and abandoned:

has approved and recommended the proposed vacation ( Document No .

Olivenhain, Map #326, Rancho Santa Fe area.
1 . Reference is made to your letter of January 24, 1962, concerning
the request of Leedy and Kimball for vacation of nG" Street from 9th Street
to 10th Street in Colony Olivenhain , Map #326, Rancho Santa Fe area .
2 . At its regular meeting of March 9, 1962, the Planning Commission
considered this matter and recommended vacation of pG» Street from 9th
Street to llth Street , provided the abutting property owner along R. S . 554
in Block 65 , Map #326, grants to the County, without cost , all that property
which lies within 30 feet from centerline of R. S . 554•
The Planning Commission also directed the staff to withhold transmittal
of this request until the Surveyor-Road Commission has notified this depart-

Dear Mr . Carter :
This is in reference to Leecly and Kimball ' s letter of January 22 ,
1962, in bebalf of James Be and Mary Ann Wood, to the San Diego County
Board of Supervisors , requesting the vacation of "G" Street from 9th
Street to 10th Street in Colony Olivenhain, HAR #326 , Rancho Santa Fe
area. The Board of Supervisors referred the request to the Planning
Commission for recommendation prior to Board action.
The Planning Department is considering making a recommendation to
the Planning Commission to vacate not only the area In subject request ,
but in addition, "G" Street from 10th Street to 11th Street , provided
you grant , without cost , any portion of your ownership lying within
30 feet of the centerline of RS 554 (Unnamed) in Lot 65 , of Colony
Olivenhain, hfap ;r326 . The County presently has a total right of way
of 50 feet for this road survey .
The Planning Department will appreciate receiving a letter from
you stating your views on the above proposal .

This letter is written in behalf of our clients , James B .
and Mary Ann Wood . We request the closing of G Street
between 9th Street and 10th Street in the Colony Oliven -
hain in this county ,
Mr . and Mrs . Wood are the owners of acre Lot 54 . A
Mr . Happ is the record owner of acre Lot 53 . G Street
intersects these lots , Mr . Happ is agreeable to such a
closing of G Street; in fact, said street cannot be distin-
guished from Lots 53 and 54 , and is made up largely of
a sand wash ,
It is our understanding that G Street has never been
accepted for public use by the County of San Diego .
Your early attention to this request will be deeply
appreciated.
