SUBJECT : Vacation of a portion of 14th Street in Olivenhain .
This is in reference to the attached request of Rizzotto ' s Custom Homes for
the vacation of the south half of 14th Street between the centerline of
vacated "A" Street and the centerline of vacated " B" Street , Colony of
Olivenhain , Map 848, as shown on the attached map .
At its regular meeting of September 25 , 1970 , after considering this matter, the
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED :
Denial
PLANNING DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION :
(Same as Commission recommendation . )
Discussion : Three written protests were filed by property owners in the area
of the requested vacation . They protested on the basis that if the vacation
were granted, the access to their property would be on a road with a right -of-
way narrower than County standards require . Fourteenth Street presently has
an 80- foot- wide right- of-way . Granting the requested vacation would reduce
this right -of- way to 40 feet , thereby eliminating the possibility of 14th Street
being taken into the County maintained road system in the future . The
Olivenhain Municipal Water District also filed a protest since they have a
water line in the proposed vacation .
Mrs . Marianne S . Light and Mr. Sam Rose , property owners , presented oral pro -
tests in addition to the above mentioned written protests .

without cost a minimum of 52 feet of right of way on an alignment and at a grade satisfactory
