This being the time set for hearing the petition of The
I.iutual Building and Loan Association of Long Beach , California ,
praying for the vacation of Norman Avenue and Daphne Street , in
the Gage Tract , Fifth Road District , San Diego County , California ,
more particularly described as follows :
Norman Avenue , a 60 -ft , road and 924 . 94 feet in length ;
also Daphne Street , a 30 -ft . road and 962 . 54 feet in
t . length ; both roads being in the " GAGE TRRCT " as per
Map #'2158 , and which property is a subdivision of a
portion of Lot 9 of Loucadia Acres as per Map 71`11704 ,
Proof is made that due and legal notice has been given of
said hearing , and no protest or objection being made to the vacation
of said streets , on motion of Supervisor Hurley , seconded by Supervisor
Aul , said petition is granted , and said streets are hereby vacated ,
abandoned and discontinued , according to the prayer of said petition .
Roll call on the forgoing motion results in the following vote
of the Board :

On April 3rd your office send us copy of petition
from the Mutual Building and Loan Association of Long Beach
asking for the vacation of Norman Avenue and Daphne Street
in the Gage Tract , fifth road district . This matter came
up for hearing before your Honorable Body on April 20 .
Our Northern Committee reported on April 25 , at
our last meeting , that they had inspected these streets and
would recommend their vacation provided there are no legali -
ties standing in the way of such action .

for closing Norman Ave . and Daphne Sts . , as per 11ap , 7-2158 of the
Gage Tract , made to you by the 15utual Building Loan Assn . of
Long Beach , Calif , for which Assn , vie are local agent .
1'le are selling this tract , the Gage lands including
the 54 lots , two roads above mentioned , and the northerly un- sub -
divided portion of Lot ;�9 , Leueadia Acres , -:alp ; 1704 , to a party
who desires to plant iL• to Avocndos .
Owning the adjoining land , Lhe owner, does not need or
desire the above mentioned roads , lst . bocause he has good roads
on Gaither side of this property ( Vulcan , on the west anii• IIygia ,
on the east ) and second because he desires to plant; the road
space to avocados ,
Furthermore , the owner having decided to plant it to
Avocados does not have need for the lot sub - division as shown
in the uage Tract .iapi, 2158 and desires to revert the same to
acerage ,
Vlith the above in mind , the Association asked
me to ascertain for them the course to be followed in closing
the above roads and reversion of the lots to acerage ,
