The meeting was called to order at 2:06 PM.

Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting on April 17, 2012.
COMMISSIONER SIMON MOTIONED, COMMISSIONER DRIELSMA SECONDED TO
APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 17, 2012 MEETING. MINUTES WERE
UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED 4-0 (2 ABSENT, 1 VACANT).

Ad Hoc Subcommittees
Outreach Information Program Review (Commissioners Harp and Ortley) – Senior Center
Manager Goodsell reviewed the outreach video from 2004 and noted that some items are
outdated.
Transportation (Commissioners Drielsma, King, and Simon) – No meeting. Commissioner

Drielsma presented information on NCTD’s new FLEX service beginning June 24, 2012.
Senior Center Manager Goodsell shared statistics about the Out & About Pilot Program.
Representative Reports
Council Contact Update – Commissioner Simon attended the Volunteer Appreciation
Party at the Senior Center, along with the Encinitas Mayor and two Council Members.
Vice-Chair Vance and Commissioner Simon attended a General Plan Housing Meeting at
the Community Center, along with Deputy Mayor Gaspar.
Senior Citizen Commission Vacancy – The current schedule is May 23, 6 PM application
due, meet with Council June 13, 6 PM, appointment made June 20.
Community Grant Panel - Grant Program Review duties have transitioned to
Commissioner Simon from Commissioner Drielsma.
