RE: Addendum One — Moonlight State Beach Improvement Project
This letter and the attachments make up Addendum One for the Moonlight Beach Improvement
Project. You must acknowledge this Addendum on your bid documents.
The following changes are hereby noticed:
1. Work to Be Done:
Corrects the number of working days from 150 to 120 working days for the base bid work.
2. Completion of Work:
Corrects the number of working days for the base bid work.
3. Changes the Mandatory pre -bid to Thursday May 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
4. Corrects the bid submission date in Item 14 of the Information to Bidders to read: Bids are
due May 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM.

Addendum One
Moonlight State Beach Improvement Project
Item 1:
WORK TO BE DONE:
The Work will consist of the Base Bid Items generally listed below and other related appurtenant work
required in accordance with the Contract Documents:
Base Bid Work includes: earthwork; removal of restroom building and concession building, removal of
utilities and other existing improvements; sewer, water, and storm drain improvements; paved areas; curb,
gutter, and concrete walk; landscaping; block retaining walls and freestanding walls; and
restroom/concession buildings.
The Base Bid Work shall be completed within 120 Working Days. Additional time will be added to the
Contract for any Bid Alternates selected and awarded to the Base Bid Contractor. The Commencement
Date for construction under the Contract shall be September 4, 2012.
The low bid on this project will be awarded upon the lowest responsive and responsible base bid, without
consideration of any alternate additive bid prices.
Item 2:
COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor shall diligently prosecute the work to completion within 120
working days from the commencement date contained in the Notice to Proceed.
Item 3:
MANDATORY PRE -BID MEETING: A MANDATORY pre -bid meeting and site visit will be held at 10
a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The meeting will convene at 400 B Street. (west end of Encinitas Blvd.)
Encinitas, California. All Contractors who intend to bid on this project MUST sign in and be in attendance
of the entire meeting and site visit in order to be eligible to bid. The pre -bid meeting is informational only.
The bidder shall not rely upon any representations made at the meeting or site visit in preparing its bid, but
shall rather rely solely upon the written Contract Documents and any contract addenda issued prior to bid
opening.
Item 4:
14. SUBMISSION OF SEALED BIDS
Once the Bid and supporting documents have been completed and signed as set forth herein, they shall be
placed, along with the Bid Guarantee and other required materials in an envelope marked in the project
name and Bidder, sealed, addressed and timely delivered to the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Encinitas, 505 South Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, California 92024 -3633 at the date and time set forth in
the Notice Inviting Bids. On the outside of the envelope shall be stated: "Moonlight State Beach
Improvements Sealed Bid; DO NOT OPEN UNTIL May 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM." No oral or telephonic
bids will be considered. No forms transmitted via the Internet, e -mail, facsimile, or any other electronic
means will be considered unless specifically authorized by City as provided herein.
