Vice-Chairperson Charnow called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.

Discussion of issues related to direction and information received from the Encinitas City
Council at the July 12, 1999 Special Joint Meeting of the City Council, the Commission for
the Arts and the Youth Commission.
Commissioners discussed various ways to determine priorities and important issues related
to arts programs. After a lengthy discussion, Commissioners determined that the
presentation to the City Council would need to demonstrate what portion of funding for
recommended programs would be provided by the City, and what portion would be provided
by others. The table attached displays this information graphically.

KACZOROWSKI MOVED, HICKS SECONDED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING
AT 8:30. MOTION CARRIED. 4-0.
