1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Meeting was called to order by Chair Buxbaum at 5:04 p.m. .
PRESENT: Chair Buxbaum, Commissioners Cope, Lemen, Thum, Tucker and
Zimdars (arrived at 5:08 p.m.)
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Arts Administrator Gilliam and Commission Secretary Zenns
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Tuckerled the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
None.
4. APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 2, 2009 MEETING MINUTES
ACTION:
COMMISSIONERS COPE MOVED AND TUCKER SECONDED TO APPROVE THE
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETWG OF NOVEMBER 2, 2009. MOTION CARRIED:
AYES• BUXBAUM, COPE, LEMEN, THUM, AND TUCKER; NAYS: NONE; ABSENT:
~ ZIMDARS; ABSTAIN: NONE.
Commissioner Zimdars arrived at 5:08 p.m.
5. OLD BUSINESS
A. 2009/10 Arts Goals Proiects/Proqrams Reports:
Arts Education: Commissioners Zimdars (Chair) and Thum
Commissioner Zimdars reported on possible arts education workshops for the Spring, 2010. The ad hoc
committee would like to develop a community-wide event to include some parent and child activities.
Additionally, Commissioners Zimdars and Thum would like to combine activities with the 2010 art exhibits.

6. NEW BUSINESS
A. 2010 Meetinq Schedule
Commission consensus to accept the Commission for the Arts 2010 meeting schedule.
B. Encinitas Arts & Events Calendar for December, 2009
Arts Administrator Gilliam reported on the activities included in the Encinitas Arts & Events Calendar for the
month of December 2009.
7. DISCUSSION: AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING
A. Proposal #or Public Art (Commissioner Lemen): Sculpture along the walking trail at
the Hall Property Park.
Commissioner Lemen: provided a brief overview of a proposal for art programming at the Hall Property
Park.
ACTION:
Commission Consensus to brinq this issue back as' an aaenda item for Commissioner Lemen to
present to the Commission for consideration.
8. REVIEW ACTION ITEMS
A. Arts Education: Commissioners Zimdars (Chair) and Thum
Develop program activities in conjunction with visual art exhibits.
B. Friends of the Arts: Commissioners Zimdars (Chair), Cope and Thum
Develop proposal letter.
C. Visual Art: Commissioners Lemen (Chair) and Tucker
Committee to meet next week. Update to_be presented,
D. Percent for Art Policy: Commissioner Cope
Commissioner Cope to meet with the Arts Administrator.
9. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Buxbaum adjourned the meeting at 5:42 P.M.
