BACKGRO iVD:
At the December 16, 1999 meeting, the Cardiff Board approved a reimbursemsnt agreement with Mr. Brad
Thornburgh to fund the construction oi a public sewer in Bumann Road (see vicinity map, Exhibit 'i). The
sewer mafn wifl serve five properties in the Bumann Road area.

A Council sub-committee or Oennis Hefz and Christy Guerin assisted in the negotiation af a set!lement o'
the project costs with Mr. Thorr.burgh The attached matrix, Exhibit 2. shows the recommended
reimbursabie costs plus the amounts paid to date. Based upon the total costs of $180,429, the
reimhursement amount for ear.h of the five properties will be $36,086.

In the Cardiff Sanitat;an District Capitai Improv2ment Program, $180,000 was budgeted for this project.
Based upon ;he final costs of $180,429, less tre one-fifth share by Mr. Thornburgh, sufficient funds are
avadable for the subject reimnursement agreement.

It is recommended that the Board approve the iiling of a Notice of Completion for the Bumann Road sewer
extension project. Exhibit 3, and fina;ize the reirrburseme;;t amounts so that a subsequent reimbursement
ordinance can be prepared for District adoption.
