Aftached you evill finsl adraft ordinance which, if adopted, would authorize the District
Eagineer to make exceptions to rfquirements and standards reiated to the installation and
maintenance of sewes facilities under Chapter 13.16 of the CArditt Sanitation Uistrict CoJe
("Code").
~ Please note that the ordinance suthorizes sach exceptions onl}• atter the Uistrict F:nginecz
issnes a fnding uf practicAlity and consistency K•ith the intent oi the Code to the City
Manager. The ordinance aiso authoriics the District Engineer to impose conui::ar.s on anN
exceptions to preserve that intent. !f you should appror•r the ordinunce it would bcaome
eifective 30 days aftcr second reading.
Finally, after the new City Engineer is an board, m}• office intends on modifying this
ocdinance to address speeiiic circumstances warranting cxceptions to either reqvirements
er standards. QJntil that time, this ordinance would sen•c to "fill the gap" whcre such
exceptions are desired and clearly warranted. Please let mc know• if you havc any
