REC2TALS
A. City, Santa Fe and San Diegaaito entered into a con-
tract on December 20. 1956. providing £or the terms arad
conditions under which City shall deliver water to Santa Fe
and San Dieguito.
8. Article 2V o£ the contract provides that City may
supply water to Santa Fe artd San Dieguita- £rom natural runof£
or £rom imported sources
C_ City has adequate quantities o£ water within Bodges
Reservoir to supply Santa Fe and San Dieguito for an
extended period of time
D_ Santa Fe and San Dieguito have developed plans for
the £utaare installation o£ permanent water treatment Facilities.
E. Santa Fe and San Dieguito request an immediate tem-
porary shutdown o£ Hodges deliveries to permit the installation
o£ interim treatment £8c3.3Li.tiea within the Hodges conduit.
F- City can malce such a shutdown and supply Santa Fa
and San Diegu3.to from imported sources and will incur
additional costs while so providing such imported supply.
G. Santa Fe and San Dieguito are wl.11ing to pay for
all additional costa incurred during the temporary shutdown.
NOW. ' HEMMFORE. in cansideration o£ the recitals grad the
mutual obligations o£ the parties as hereira expressed. City,
Santa Fe and Sara Diegasito agree as Follows:
1_ City shall immediately shut off the £low o£ water
£rom Bodges Reservoir through the Hodges conduit Brad shall
supply Santa Fe and Sara Dieguito from imported sources for a
period of 30 days or less from the date of ttais supplemmbntal
agreement_
2. Santa Fe shall pay City $18_10 per acre foot in
addition to the raormal rates provided 3.a climb Decemtser 1956
contract for all watmbr de3L3.vermbd durirag this interim shutdown
period.
3- San Diegtsito shall pay City $9-S5 per acre foot ira_
addition to the normal rates provided in the Decmbmtaer 1956
contract for all water delivered durirag this interim shutdown
period.
4_ This supplemental agreement may tae extended for an
additional 30-day period upon approval of the City Manager
on taehalf of City and upon approval of the managers of both
Santa Fe arfd San Dieguito in the event the interim trmbatmmbnt
facility installation has not bembn completed.
S. This supplemmental agreement shall sot affect the
Decemtaer 1956 contract in any manner other than for the cem-
porary cost surcharge provided in paragraphs 2 and 3 atsove.
