Mayor Houlihan called the meeting to order at 11:04 A.M. Self-introductions were made.

AGENDA ITEM
1. PRESENTATION OF THE HISTORY WITHOUT WALLS
PRESERVATION RESOURCE BROCHURE
Kenneth Hayward reported that there were a few items to finalize on the brochure. He indicated
that Wendy Haskett's son had created a logo for the brochure. Mr. Hayward would attempt to have
the brochure available for this weekend's Poinsettia Festival.

2. UPDATE ON THE HIGHWAY 101 ORAL HISTORIES PROJECT
Lloyd O'Connell reported that eleven oral histories had been completed and would like to complete
six additional histories. Mr. O'Connell indicated that Kristi Hawthorne, President of the Oceanside
Historical Society, would transcribe the tapes.
3. DATABASE SUBCOMMITTEE - REVIEW AND DI5CUSSION OF
WEBSITES
Billy Stern reported that, at the last meeting, the group viewed several websites with the purpose to
obtain ideas to develop the History without Walls website. He indicated that there were a few
additional sites that he would like the group to view at the next meeting. Also, Mr. Stern indicated
that he would like the group to create a plan of action for developing the website.
Mr. Stern also noted that "Historywithoutwalls.com" is the group's web domain. However, he
believed that the name should be more descriptive of what the site would contain. Mr. Stern
suggested "Encinitashistory.org" as the web domain. The subcommittee agreed.
Erin Meister, an intern at the San Dieguito Historical Society, reported that she was working on the .
San Dieguito Historical Society's website. She would try to have that site running by the next
meeting so that the group could view it.
INFORMATION SHARING
Mayor Houlihan suggested that the group organize a Spring Event to promote the organization.
She suggested a walking tour with the San Dieguito Historical Society, a fair that highlights all the
organizations involved with the History without Walls group, a historical preservation and data
collection workshop, or historical re-creations.
Additionally, Mayor Houlihan indicated that the Backward Glances Event Subcommittee should be
combined with the Marketing Plan Subcommittee and that the new subcommittee be named "Event
Subcommittee."
Mayor Houlihan stated that ideas for the spring event would be further developed at the next
subcommittee meeting.
