ITEM # 1 Approved.
Approve Minutes of May 20, 1999 meeting.
ITEM # 2 Thank you for coming. Everyone introduced themselves. Some brief announcements.
Announcements/Regular Agenda Peder Norby announced that the first art festival would be Friday, June 4. Ocean
Dreams. Dan Haxe announced that La Paloma had first:film festival screening. Julian
Duval announced that on June 19-20, the 3rd Annual Herb Festival would be at Quail
Gaxdens. Peder Norby also announced that Sven from the Danish Bakery died on May
. 25. The bakery will be sold and will hopefully be back in business again soon.
Gene Crreenwald gave a quick update on the new brochure. It's preity close. It should
be ready by the first week in July.
The 1Vlayor introduced Sandy Cooper from High Technology Solutions. Sandy gave a
presentation on touch kiosks. High Technology Solutions formed turn-key kiosks in
1994. Sandy showed a complete slide show presentation on kiosks and gave several
examples of the cities that are using them currently. She also gave a brief explanation
of the prices involved which are determined by what software a city wants to include
in their kiosk. Complete prices axe available through High Technology Solutions.
A copy of her presentation is available through the Mayor's office.
Sandy Holder announced that there will be an ADA workshop, but that the date has yet
to be decided. The Subcommittee needs to meet before the workshop can be held.
She will check on date which will probably be on July 7. She will update us at the
next meeting. An agenda will need to be developed. GBD funds could possibly be
used. We are checking on eligibility. Peder Norby says there is a lot of ADA info on
DEMA website. Chamber or City's website could get it also.
The Mayor asked that people let her know of any suggestions for topics for our
upcoming meetings.
