ISSUE DIRECTION/ACTION
ITEM # 1 Minutes approved.
Approve Minutes of June 4, 1998 meeting.
ITEM #2 Staff is pursuing additional parking in downtown area. Staff working with NCTD to
Update on Downtown Parking. develop site south of E Street, East of Railroad ROW, and alley between D and E
Streets.
ITElV1 #3 Growers will provide plants and flowers, but will not commit labor to plant flowers
Flower Growers Retention in Encinitas on ESD site. Once decision has been determined, growers will assist and retail
florists may wish to participate in on-going project. There are things City can do to
help encourage retention of growers in City. San Diego Horticultural organization
may help with projects. Eric Anderson to continue discussions and report back.
Code Enforcement approach may need to be modified. Clarifying conformance
issues may help to retain growers. Request letter to growers re flow-based sewer
rates.
ITEM #4 Banners to be installed next week in Downtovvn area. Plaque has been designed for
DEMA Recognition of Historic Structures recognition of Historic Structures in Downtown area. DEMA to produce a rgeritage
guide of historic structures. Plan is to include all structures along Coast Hwy 101 in
Leucadia and Cardiff. Program has no ties to federal or state historic preservation
programs.
