CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Council Member Houlihan called the meeting to order at 11:04 A.M. Self-introductions were
made.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - FEBRUARY 22~ 2005 MEETING
Committee consensus to approve the minutes of the February 22,2005 meeting.

AGENDA ITEM
1. PRESENTATION BY GREG BUTLER~ STARS LEARNING-
"A DRIVING TOUR OF ENCINITAS"
Greg Butler, long-term resident of Encinitas, gave a presentation on the CD that he created,
which is an audio driving tour of Encinitas. One would listen to the CD while driving and be
directed through various parts of town and provided with information. The driving tour would
begin at the Visitors Center. A map would also be included with each CD.
Mr. Butler indicated that his goal was to. target visitors to.the area and to also target residents that
would like additional information on the community. He planned to have the CD available at the
Visitors Center. Mr. Butler's presentation concluded with the group listening to selected
portions of the CD.

Event and Marketina Subcommittee

A book-signing event with Wendy Haskett, in collaboration with Barnes and Noble, was in the
planning stages.
The committee discussed ideas to combine a 20th Anniversary Celebration of the City's
incorporation with a historical festival. Council Member Houlihan indicated that the group
would need to seek approval from the Council Members. A festival committee would also need
to be created.
