· History and Historical Preservation Resource Brochure:
Kenneth Hayward and Cris Hicks were continuing their efforts to complete the History and
Historical Preservation Resource Brochure.
· Website Database Subcommittee:
No report.
· Event and Marketing Subcommittee:
Upcoming events were as follows:
StoryArts, Inc. would be holding the "Legacies" art exhibit and reading of stories on May 22,
2005 at the Community and Senior Center.
Wendy Haskett was in the process of planning a booksigning event with Barnes and Noble, date
to be determined.
3. DEVELOPMENT OF A HISTORICAL FESTIVAL COMMITTEE
Council Member Houlihan indicated that she would like to start planning a historical festival for
the 20th anniversary of the City's incorporation. Peder Norby indicated that an area at the
Poinsettia Festival or the April Street Fair could be set aside for the event. Historical displays,
re-enactments, art, tours, costumes could be a part of it. Council Member Houlihan noted that a
20th anniversary logo could be created and used on t-shirts and memorabilia to commemorate the
event.
Many members of the History without Walls Subcommittee agreed to be on the planning
committee. Houlihan indicated that the group would take the lead on the project but that the
committee would include others as well.
This item would be agendized for the next meeting for further discussion and development.
