AGENDA ITEM
1. "California Digital Library"
Council Member Houlihan reviewed with the committee members the website
for the California Digital Library (CDL). The CDL is one of the largest digitallibraries
available.
She indicated that she believed that the CDL would be a good resource for the HWOW groups to
collaborate with for their archival and digital cataloguing database needs. Should the HWOW
groups venture on with the project, the CDL would provide them with an online presence and be
a source for an online records and documents database that would be accessible to a broad range
of people.

Council Member Houlihan gave an update-on the City's 20th Anniversary celebration. She
indicated that several changes were made to the calendar that was created by Fred Caldwell and it
would be available shortly for purchase.
Houlihan indicated that the budget for the project was working itself out. Enough funds had been
obtained to cover expenses for the calendar and banner production costs. Funding was obtained
through the calendar sponsors of $500 each, by the anonymous donations of $5,000 and by
DEMA's sponsorship of $3,000 for the downtown banners. Houlihan hoped to have additional
funding from the calendar sales to create lapel pins and T-shirts.
Additionally, Houlihan reported that a walking tour with Lloyd O'Connell would take place on
January 20,2006. Registration cost would be $12.00 and would include a map and t-shirt.
