CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Council Member Houlihan called the meeting to order at 11: 18 A.M. Self-introductions were
made.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 27 ~ 2005 MEETING
Committee consensus to approve the minutes of the September 27, 2005 meeting.

AGENDA ITEM
1. SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATES
· Historv and Historical Preservation Resource Brochure:
Council Member Houlihan indicated that she had received the draft resource brochure from
Kenneth Hayward. Before finalizing the brochure, she would like to incorporate some graphics
from Fred Caldwell. '
· Web site Database Subcommittee:
Council Member Houlihan reported that the website prototype was developed. Recently, staff
had met with some of the subcommittee members to discuss funding for the website.
Additionally, the subcommittee met with Brad Westbrook of the California Digital Library.

They discussed ideas for the web site, catalogue archiving issues, and the possibility of using
California Digital Library's website as the committee's portal. A follow up meeting would be
scheduled to look further into this joint effort with the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, the
Encinitas Historical Society, Quail Botanical Gardens, the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce and
the City. '
· Event and Marketinl! Subcommittee:
Council Member Houlihan discussed the work that Fred Caldwell had been doing on the 20th
Anniversary logo and calendar. Mr. Caldwell presented the draft calendar. He noted that the
calendar would be finalized shortly. To assist with the costs, sponsorships would be sought for
each month. Also consideration was being made of a 16-month calendar instead of a 12- month.
Wendy Haskett also discussed her book signing event which was in the planning stages. It was
determined that the book signing would take place at the School House. This event was
tentatively scheduled for December 1, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. Also, it was the hope that the 20th
anniversary calendar would be available for purchase at the event.
