CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Houlihan called the meeting to order at 11 :03 A.M. Self-introductions were made.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - DECEMBER 14~ 2004 MEETING
Committee Consensus to approve the Minutes of the December 14, 2004 meeting.

AGENDA ITEM
1. PRESENTATION OF THE HISTORY WITHOUT WALLS
BROCHURE
Council Member Houlihan reviewed the History without Walls brochure that was created by
Kenneth Hayward with the assistance of Houlihan and Wendy Haskett.
ACTION
The brochure would be included with the next agenda. Committee members were requested to
review the brochure and provide comments at the next meeting.

2. EVENT AND MARKETING SUBCOMMITTEE
Council Member Houihan reported that Wendy Haskett's new book should go to publishing within
the next six months. She indicated that a book signing event with Ms. Haskett could be one this
year's Spring events.
Houlihan further reported that she had discussed with Billy Stern the possibility of holding another
composer district event later in the year.
Mr. Stern added that he would like to see an "Encinitas History Festival" developed which would
incorporate history, music, and art into one event. Since this type of event requires at least 18
months of planning, the group concluded that it would be scheduled for 2006.
Some of the ideas the group discussed for upcoming events included:
Historical Tour
Historical Building Update
History Festival
Book Signing
Y outh/Elder Project
Composer District
Historical Art Show
ACTION
Houlihan and Ms. Haskett would begin work on the book signing event. This item would be
further discussed at the next meeting.
3. DATABASE SUBCOMMITTEE - WEB SITE UPDATE
Billy Stern discussed some of the preliminary work he had done for the group's website, including
a mock webpage. He indicated that due to upcoming responsibilities, he would no longer be able to
assist the subcommittee in the same capacity. He suggested that perhaps the group would be able to
receive assistance in developing the web site from the City's webmaster. Additionally, Erin Meister
who is helping the San Dieguito Heritage Museum with their website would possibly be able to
help the group.
Mr. Stern indicated that the group's first step should be to reserve www.encinitashistorv.orl! as
their domain.
Ms. Sunrich noted that the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society now had a website running. That
web address is: www.ranchosantafehistoricalsocietv.orl!
