MEETING MINUTES

1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Vice Chairperson Prieto called the meeting to order at 4:40 pm.
Present:
Vice Chairperson Prieto, Commissioners Felzer, Ogden, Vaccaro,
Alcorn, and Canchola.

Recreation Supervisor Pacheco and Administrative Coordinator
Dakovich
Absent:
Recreation Supervisor Rubenstein, Chairperson Berry-Blum and
Commissioners Lee, Micelli and Ferreirae.

5. CLOSING AND ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Approval of Minutes for Meeting of January 4, 2006.
COMMISSIONER FEllER MOVED, COMMISSIONER VACCARO SECONDED
TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 4, 2006 MEETING. MOTION
CARRIED 6-0.
6. PRESENTATIONS
A. Encinitas Fire Department Disaster Preparedness - Captain James Kelly
Captain Kelly presented information on various items individuals would need in
the event of a disaster and also provided a handout on survival backpack items.

7. OLD BUSINESS
A. Status Report on Current YouthfTeen Activities (Teen Trips, Open Gym,
Open MIC, etc.).
Vice Chairperson Prieto noted that Open Gym would be held February 4 and
Open Mic would be held February 17. He also noted the upcoming Teen Trip to
Disneyland on February 17, and encouraged Commissioners to attend the trip.
B. Commission Subcommittee Reports.
The Marketing Subcommittee met on January 4, 2006 to discuss marketing ideas
for the upcoming teen trips to Mountain High and Disneyland.
No other Subcommittee meetings were held in January.
8. NEW BUSINESS
None
9. COMMISSIONERS CORNER
A. Commissioners
Commissioner Alcorn advised the La Costa Canyon High School Winter Formal
would be held February 4 at Petco Park.
Commissioner Canchola noted the San Dieguito Academy Winter Formal was
held January 13 on the SS Midway.
Vice Chairperson Prieto noted the upcoming La Costa Canyon High School
game show called "Singled Out".
B. Staff
Recreation Supervisor Pacheco reported that the snowboard trip to Mountain
High was enjoyed by all participants.

The meeting adjourned at 5:09 PM.
