' INTRODUCTION
' The Olive Garden Restaurant is located in the City of Encinitas approximately 5
miles east of Interstate 5, north of Encinitas Boulevard, along El Camino Real. The
site is situated on the southeasterly corner of Encinitas Boulevard and El Camino
' Real. The project site as it exists today consists of two level, terraced lots, with an
approximate 14' feet elevation difference between the lots. The proposed
development shows the two lots level, which is accomplished by excavating 10 feet
' deep on the easterly lot and filling 5 feet of earth on the westerly lot.
The site for this restaurant, owned by General Mills Restaurant, Inc., has been
' assigned a Major Use Permit (M.U.P.) number 92 -130. The existing streets fronting
the north and east property lines are constructed to the ultimate right -of -way width.
This study analyses drainage affecting development of the above mentioned lots, lots
18 and 19 of Parcel Map 11909. Lot 18 and Lot 19 comprise about 1.0 acre each.
The total drainage area studied is approximately 2.0 acres.
Stormwater runoff is conveyed as surface flow and through storm drain
' improvements. Stormwater runoff from the northern half of this development is
conveyed as surface flow from east to west across asphalt paving to concrete curb and
gutter. This runoff is collected into a proposed onsite stormdrain system which
' eventually makes its way to an existing offsite 48" stormdrain in Garden View Road.
Stormwater runoff from the southern half of this development is conveyed as surface
flow from east to west across asphalt paving to concrete curb and gutter. This runoff
is collected into a proposed onsite stormdrain system located in the southwesterly
corner of the site and eventually makes its way to an existing offsite 48" stormdrain
that crosses El Camino Real.
