This report presents the res~ts of our inspections, observations
and field density testing
dur ing the
construction phase
on the
above referenced property.
The pr oje ct
included the
cutting of
a west-facing
slope for a
basement/garage area.
The placement
of
fill
on
the
site was
predominantly
along
the
outside
of
the retaining walls.
The
resul ts of our
dens i ty
tests
are
present
on
Table
I.
The
approximate location of these tests is shown on the enclosed Site
Plan, Plate I.
LABORATORY TEST DATA
The laboratory standard for
determining the
maximum dry density
was performed
in accordance
with ASTM D 1557-78.

Compacted fill was utilized in the upper few feet of
the pad and compacted with heavy earth moving equipment.

6.0 to 8.0 inches thick, moistened as required and

of
the laboratory

percent
maximum dry density.

The footing excavations for the northern retaining wall and
staircase enclosure (eastern portion of pad) have been
inspected and approved by this firm.
2.
Steel reinforcement is consistent with section 30-1,100-1,
170-1 of the ap9roved plans. The steel reinforcement is
also consistent with the preliminary geotechnical report.
3.
All loose debris should be removed from the base of the
excava tion pr ior to pour ing concrete.

The footing excavations in the central portion of the garage
area section 5/D2 and column pads F-4 have been inspected
and approved by this firm. In addition the continuous wall
footings for the two garage sections have been inspected and
approved by this firm.
2.
The pad, utility line backfill in the eastern portion of the
basement areas has been inspected and approved by this firm.
Slab reinforcement is consistent with the approved plans and
soils repor t.
3.
Steel reinforcement in the footings is consistent with the
approved plans and soils report. However, section 5/D-I
indicates the slab area along the eastern and western sides
of the central footing are tied together (not a free
floating slab). Clarification by the structural engineer
may be necessary.
