The President called the Board;: to order an,d requested the
Secretary for a report upon the matter of calling the Board to-
gether as a Board of Equalization.
The Secretary then presented her affidavit to t,he Presi-
dent J. Frank,Cullen, which said affidavit, xas read aloud to the

M. L. iiinder, bein- first duly sworn on oath deposes and
saSTs:- That she is the secretary of the Cardiff Irrigation Lis-
trict; That on the third day of v.ay 1916, she published a natice
in The Daily Transcript, a newspaper of gener aI circulation, pub-
lished in San Diego County, California, which said notice is in
words and figures as follows:

Notice is hereby 2-;iven that the assessor,of t he above
~ Dtstrict has delivered to me the assessment book containing the
assessments of property for the for the year 1916. The Board of
Directors of Cardiff Irrigation District, County of San Diego,

State of California, will meet and sit as a Board of Equalization
for the purpose of equalizing assessments as made by the assessor
of said district on all rsal property of the District commencing
Wednesday the 24th day of 1rlay, 1916, at 10 0' clock A. M. of said
day and cont~ inue in session as long as may be necessary.
The assessors book of the District is now in my office in
' the Flatiron building, Cardiff, California, for inspection, iand
may be seen between the hours of l~ A. M. and 4 P.N. on all business -
days, including tje 23rd day of May 1916.
. All persons wishin,,)-, to make objections to valuations and
assessments as shoRn by said assessment book may appear before the
said Board at the time desionated herein as the time for the meeting
of said Board of Equalization.

hereinafter mentioned was, principal clerk of the printers and
publishers of the The Daily Transcript, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published daily, sundays excepted, at the
City of San DieUo, In t#e above named County and State; 'That as
such principal clerk of the printers and
publishers he has, and
at all times herein mentioned has had, charge of the advertise-
ments published in said newspaper; That the notiQe of the Board
of Equalization, Cardiff Irrization District of which the anriexed

~ R E S 0 L V E D. That the said notice of ineeting of this
Board is a Boarrl of Equalization and in all respeets according
to the requirments of said Statute, that notice has been given

. for a period of twenty (20) days and that this Board is now
duly and legally convened as a Board of Equalization and is
duly and re~ularly oroanized as such and is prepared to equal-
ize assessments in said District for the yea-r 1916.
:fu'hich said resolution was seconded by J. L. Minney and upon a
vote being taken was unanimously adopted
The president then s tated that the Board was du19 and
regularly organized and would immediately sit as a Board of
Equalization to hear and determine such objections to valuations
and assessments as come before them.
The meeting having been continued during the 24th and 25th
day of May, 1916, the following change of assessments were made.
