Manager Schneider also stated that the District connection charges should
be Increased.
He explained that a connection charge Is payment for capacity
for a specific property at the treatment facility.

ALIEN PROBLEM ON DISTRICT PROPERTY NORTH OF BIG BEAR
Manager Schneider reported that al the brush north of the Big Bear market
has been leveled.
In talking with Capt. Knowles of the Sheriff's Department, ;

MANAGER'S REPORT
Manager Schneider reported that the dally average flow for March was
890,000 gallons.
He Informed the Board that he had ordered a 6" pump

motor for the pump station.
He explained that If the pr
falls, the District should have a spare pump to handle t e high flows expected
this summer.
He felt that It was prudent to have a spar on hand as soon as
possible.

annexed to the DIstrict.
The Board directed the Manager to get together with the Planning Depart-
ment of the City, and see what the Impact of the preferred general plan would
have on the District.
The Manager was asked to report ~ack on this at the May
Board meeting.
Manager Schneider also Informed the Board that he wanted to have the
employees of the District to be covered by the 1959 Survivor's Benefit offered
by P.E.R.S.
In the event an employee dies before reachirg retirement age, his
spouse would then receive a monthly Income Instead of a lump sum settlement.
The cost to the District for Its four employees Is $240 ~ year.
The process
to have this coverage takes months, and the manager would like to have this
effective at July 1, 1988.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Kubota reported that Vista has completed the lea~e agreement for

outfall capacity, and the District has received the first year's rental check
In the amount of $24,500.
