PUBLIC HEARINGS A. CASE NUMBER: 89-233 MUP/EIA APPLICANT: City of Encinitas LOCATION: 100 Block of Vulcan between "I" and "J" streets DESCRIPTION: Major Use Permit and Environmental Initial Assessment for Mildred McPherson Neighborhood Park. ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS: Pending Motion: Board Member Tobias - To recommend to Planning Commission approval of Case No. 89-233MUP/EIA with staff 8 recommendation and the additional conditions: 1. All approved trees shall be of a minimum 15 gallon size and shrubs of a minimum 5 gallon size. A final landscape plan indicating such shall be submitted, along with an irrigation plan, and found satisfactory by the Community Development Department prior to permit issuance. 2. Self-closing gates shall be installed at entrance to the park, to be verified by the Community Development Department prior to issuance. 3. The applicant shall install decomposed granite or equivalent to create a traversable level area for pedestrians to access the park along the property's frontage with Vulcan Avenue to be verified by the Community Development Department prior to permit lssuance. 4. Project slopes shall be planted with a native mix of drought tolerant plant materials, to be indicated on the final landscape plan and verified by the Community Development Department prior to permit issuance.
