Items on the Consent Calendar are matters which are either routine, self
explanatory or have been discussed at previous meetings. It is
. anticipated they will not be discussed separately. with a motion "to
adopt the Consent Calendar" the Community Advisory Board approves all
Consent Calendar staff recommendations, as shown on the agenda. These
items are grouped together to allow time for other items on the regular
agenda.
However, items may be removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion
either by a "Request to Speak" form from the public, handed to staff, or
a request by a Board Member.
Items removed by a member of the public will be taken up immediately
following adoption of the Consent Calendar. Items removed by a Board
Member will be taken up at the end of the regular agenda.
CLOSING AND ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Approval of Minutes: Regular Meeting of July 21, 1994,

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (15 MINUTES)
Oral comments (maximum of three minutes per person) will be heard from
people who submit a white speaker's slip to staff. The law precludes
the Board from discussing or taking action upon such non-agenda items.
They will be referred to the Planning staff.
REGULAR AGENDA
2. Public Hearing for a Major Use Permit request to allow a private
school to operate within an existing building of Paul Ecke Central
School, located in the Public/Semi-Public Zone. Design Review of
two wall signs and a freestanding sign is included as part of the
application. CASE NUMBER: 94-108 MUP; APPLICANT: Ecole Francaise
de San Diego; LOCATION: 189 Union Street; ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS:
Exempt per Section 15301 of CEQA; Staff contact: Assistant Planner
Langager.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive public testimony, review the project
and recommend that the Planning Commission adopt the draft
Resolution approving Case No. 94-108 MUP.

3. Review City Council actions from the meetings of July 20, 27 and

4. The next Mayor/Chair meeting has been rescheduled from September 8,
1994 to september 19, 1994 and the joint City council/planning
commission/CAB meeting has been rescheduled from September 13,1994
to October 19, 1994.

5. General Discussion of agenda topics for the joint City
council/Planning Commission/CAB meeting to be held October 19,
1994.
ADJOURNMENT
Meeting to be adjourned to the next regularly scheduled meeting to be
held Thursday, September 22, 1994.

hearing body by filing the appeal within fifteen (15) calendar days
after the hearing, ten (10) days after the hearing for a Tentative

LEGAL NOTICE OF MEETING CANCELLATION
Old Encinitas Community Advisory Board
It is hereby given that the Old Encinitas Community Advisory Board
Public Hearing scheduled for September 22, 1994 has been canceled due to
a lack of agenda items. A continuance, of the public hearing items
originally scheduled for the meeting, has been requested by the
applicants.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Old Encinitas Community
Advisory Board will be held on October 20, 1994.
